My Mind is not my own

Static burrowed to the bone

For my own thoughts I must atone

In here, I am not alone

So many voices

And none are kind

Forced to go along

Often left behind

Why can't it be just me inside my own mind

The dark, it is so welcoming

A place of rest where none can see

Will it win eventually?

This darkness which I let bury me?

Or, like life from a seed

Bursting forth in petals and leaves

Can I become free
